INTRODUCTION
Boretech was contracted by a new valued client to assist with HDD works at Alfred and Narla Road, Swanbourne.
SCOPE
Boretech was contracted to Install DN400mm HDPE pipe in two separate locations over a distance of 110m and 70m respectively.

GROUND CONDITIONS
Running white dry beach sands.
CHALLENGES
The team were required to efficiently deliver these works in a short time frame, working with both the client, school and golf club requirements to keep all disruptions to a minimum.
The terrain was also a challenge with the approximate elevation difference between entry and exit being 25m across shot two, also in an environmentally sensitive area.
The ground being drilled was a very dry white beach sand, that the Drill crew were able to combat with good advice from our Mud engineer.
TEAM SUCCESS
Initial success was achieved by using the DCI TeraTrack topographical-mapping tool that allowed us to design a Bore plan before mobilizing the crew and equipment. This gave both the Boretech Crew and Management team confidence in the works from the first day onsite.
The First drill shot was successfully completed under the anticipated time allocated and gave the team an appreciation of the ground conditions. It was also good to see our new Driller Jason stepping up and assisting the client with great communication & instructions for the pipe handling on pullback.
The second drill shot was also delivered within its anticipated time frame, including a minor mechanical issue that the crews solved efficiently.
Boretech scheduled extra workers and Vac trucks to assist during these works to mitigate any delays.
It was great to see the teamwork between not only the Boretech crew but also between Boretech and our client.
