Boretech were engaged with a new client to provide HDD works at Parker Point, RTIO Mine site.

2 x DN110mm Communications Drill shots under live Rail
2 x DN160mm Communications Drill shots under live Rail
1 x DN500mm Sleeve Drill shot under live Rail

CHALLENGES
• Varying contours made planning the Bore path difficult.
• Difficulty creating a Bore Hole drilling through loose & previously blasted Rock used as backfill.
• For the DN500mm Drill there was nowhere to lay the pipe due to Rail lines, pipe had to be fed through an existing Culvert placed on custom built sleds to avoid damaging existing infrastructure within the Culvert.
• Limited access & egress meant a crane/franer was required to lift in each Reamer size.
TEAM SUCCESS
Excellent planning and Risk Assessments between Boretech & DCI management & field staff meant that all risk was eliminated and managed to provide a positive safe outcome.
